Press Releases:
April 2009 --Micron Technologies UK facility in Dartford,
Kent successfully completed its latest inspection from the FDA
March 2009 -- Micron Technologies UK facility in Dartford,
Kent successfully completed its latest inspection from the MHRA
Micron Technologies Inc. has selected a site in Malvern
Pennsylvania to build new plant.
Plans are currently being developed for the construction of an 85,000 square
feet facility.
The facility will house a state of art laboratories and mill rooms. Estimated
opening early 2010
A full isolator system for machinery has been installed
at Micron’s US facility.
This new system provides Micron the capability to handle potent compounds with
OEL’s of 100 nanograms.
May 2007 Micron Technologies Inc. Exton Pennsylvania
facility successfully completed an inspection from FDA.
Micron Technologies Inc. has increased its laboratory
capacity by more than 50% in order to support the growing requirements coming
from its customers for Material Characterisation; additional HPLCs, Differential
Scanning Calorimetry, BET and microscope have been added to the existing
equipments.
Both facilities have now the possibility to micronise potent compounds under 100
nanogram OEL in an in-house developed containment system which allow the micronisation of R&D quantities as well as commercial quantities

October 10, 2005 -- Micron Technologies UK facility in
Dartford, Kent successfully completed its latest inspection from the FDA
The American Food and Drug Administration had two inspector audit the facility
over three days in October 2005. This success highlights the commitment to
quality by Micron Technologies continues the ongoing programme of audit and
inspection from customers, FDA, EMEA and MHRA at our facilities.

"Micronisation of Pharmaceutical Powders for Use in
Inhalation"
Due to the nature of the respiratory tract, depending on the indication for
which the product is being developed, particle size of pharmaceutical powders
for use in inhalation is critical. It will dictate which areas of the
respiratory tract are targeted in order for the product to have the greatest
efficacy. This article will cover different micronisation techniques used by the
industry to achieve desired particle size, and will describe analytical
techniques to test these particles and characterize the powders.

November 2005 -- Micron Technologies Inc completes Expansion
Micron Technologies Inc has begun an expansion to its Facility in Exton
Pennsylvania. The expansion will increase existing capacity by 50% and includes
two new processing suites. The new processing suites are based on a similar
design used in Micron’s facility located in the United Kingdom. The new
processing suites will be totally redundant and will not impact Micron’s ability
to meet client demands during this construction phase. The expansion was completed and operational by November of 2005.
According to Brian Hausner, president, “the expansion supports Micron’s overall
strategy of maintaining capacity ahead of customer demand. The pharmaceutical
industry’s business model is evolving and Micron will continue to invest in
services that support the industry.”
Micron Technologies Inc provides contract particle size reduction and analytical
laboratory services exclusively for the pharmaceutical industry. With compatible
FDA inspected facilities located in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Project scale up and processing can be undertaken in both facilities. Analytical
capabilities include but are not limited to; particle size analysis, surface
area, XRD, microscopy, method development, and release testing.
